Several years ago, shortly before my first child was born, I imagined creating a daily blog to match the “daf yomi” daily page of Talmud study (http://apikorostalmud.blogspot.com/). I managed to keep up some form of the blog for a time, but real life duties with children and family as well as increasing work burdens made the original vision unrealistic.
So now I start again with more realistic goals.
The power of the blog platform is permanence and persistence: the opportunity to get one’s words out there. Readers may agree or disagree, but they are reading. And, hopefully, they are thinking.
I see a few goals for this platform: to get out past material that has sat mostly invisible in print but not on the web, to share new ideas and information, and to create one more vehicle to share my animating philosophy of Humanistic Judaism. To those reading this, welcome!
